Known for the Seaside Seabird Sanctuary and its rescued pelicans, Indian Shores is a narrow strip of Gulf-front condos and quiet homes. Guests who enjoy watching wildlife at the sanctuary usually want more of it, and a Gulfport dolphin watching cruise is a natural next step. Our launch sits roughly 30 to 40 minutes south by car, and every trip is a private charter.
Boat tours Indian Shores guests take with us begin at our Gulfport launch on Boca Ciega Bay, roughly 30 to 40 minutes south. We don't pick up in Indian Shores or use a local dock.
Morning trips bring calm seas and active dolphins, and late afternoons often catch pods feeding and playing in the wake. Flexible scheduling means you pick the slot, anytime from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, and Captain Allen plans the route around it. If you don't see your preferred time slot online, call and Captain Allen will do his best to get you out on the water. Condo neighbors in Redington Shores make the same short trip south.
Egmont Key is the standout day trip. An Egmont Key history and beach tour covers Fort Dade, the 1858 lighthouse and gopher tortoises, and snorkeling the fort ruins adds fish and coral in clear water. Gear and instruction are included, so beginners and experienced snorkelers both get in comfortably. The island is reachable only by boat, which keeps its beaches far quieter than the Gulf-front sand back home in Indian Shores, and there is time left for shelling along the shoreline.
Private charters suit special occasions. Couples marking an anniversary can choose a sunset cruise near St. Pete, while groups of friends head for the John's Pass sandbar scene just south of the Redington beaches. Bring your own decorations, snacks and a cooler, and pick the playlist for the Bluetooth speakers.
